Wounded for Our Transgressions

Christ died so that we could be free from sin. The bible says in Matthew 11: 28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Before we accept Christ into our lives we are like a penny that is randomly located in a parking lot, in which we have been dropped, left, and are lost waiting to be discovered. We are valued at the lowest amongst those deemed to be of higher value, yet when someone finds what has been lost our value has been reinstated and we are available for use. Once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior our value increases and we are available for His use.

When Jesus shed his blood he paid the price so that we could be in right standing with God the Father, offering everyone who will believe salvation. According to the Prophet Isiah in Isiah 53:5 it says, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” This prophecy revealed that the coming Messiah was going to bare our sins and accept the punishment that each of us deserved. It is important to know that our sinful nature keeps us separated from God and unless we repent we will suffer eternal damnation.

God is like a doctor he is able to operate and fix the issue by prescribing us himself as a long-term healing to all of our illnesses. We first must come to Him admitting that we need His help in order to be free from that which has us bound (Sin). The bible says in Romans 6:23 that “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” If we choose to stay in sin we know our fate according to the scripture above we will spend all eternity away from God but if we choose to believe that God sent His son Jesus to die for all of our transgressions than we can be at peace with Him in eternity.

We should all thank God for His saving grace that He allowed man to crucify His son on our behalf so that we can be born again and whole in our spirits becoming one with Him. People do not realize that it is an honor and a privilege to be saved from sin through Jesus Christ. If it was not for God’s love and saving grace we would all perish. Once we understand the power in the death and resurrection of Christ we can tell others of how He bled and died for their transgressions as well. Spread the word it is important that everyone knows that Jesus is the source to all humanities issues.
